Spread the Word Nevada’s Nevada Reading Week Efforts to Kick Off with the Australian Bee Gees

Who:    Spread the Word Nevada leading Southern Nevada in Nevada Reading Week participation. In 1987, the Nevada Department of Education began a statewide initiative for teachers and librarians to celebrate reading through shared thematic activities. And for the past decade, the literacy nonprofit has been instrumental in securing guest readers to participate by visiting its adopted elementary schools, reading to classrooms and talk about the relevance of books and career choices.

What:    Local celebrities and members from Win-Win Entertainment, community leaders, political dignitaries and members of the community are joining Spread the Word Nevada to participate in the week-long observance of Nevada Reading Week – February 29 – March 4, 2016. This tremendous week will be kicked off by the Australian Bee Gees visiting Wynn Elementary. They will read to several classrooms, entertain the students with their musical wonders and talk about the importance of literacy and the exciting world of musicians.

Fremont Street Experience to Partner with Spread the Word Nevada for SlotZilla Charity Challenge

100% of SlotZilla™ Revenue to Benefit
Spread the Word Nevada on February 25

WHAT:    Fremont Street Experience will be hosting the first SlotZilla Charity Challenge of 2016 to benefit Spread the Word Nevada. Fremont Street Experience will be donating 100% of SlotZilla revenue to the charity on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Flight times can be purchased at the SlotZilla box office or can be booked in advance online at Flights are $20 before 6 p.m. and $25 after 6 p.m. for the lower Zipline and $40 before 6 p.m. and $45 after 6 p.m. for the upper Zoomline.
