Kids to Kids Distributes One Millionth Book:
Comedian-Magician Mac King Joins in the Celebration

September 15, 2008 - Spread the Word Nevada: Kids to Kids celebrated the distribution of its one-millionth book at an event on September 15 at Sunrise Acres Elementary School.

Spread the Word Nevada founder Laurie Hartig (below) inspired students with a whimsical tale about the power of books.

Comedian Magician Mac King (below left), star of "The Mac King Comedy Magic Show" at Harrah's Las Vegas, made a special appearance at the celebration. Below right, Kids to Kids Executive Director Lisa Habighorst speaks to the students in attendance.

Habighorst and King distributed the organization's one-millionth book to a lucky child, Utahlieya White (below), after a dramatic countdown.

The book was "How Much is a Million?" by David M. Schwartz. Find out some amazing facts about our million donated books.

Mac King highlighted the magic of books by performing illusions for students, including these crowd-pleasing antics.

These are the faces of just some of the kids who benefit from the programs provided by Kids to Kids.

Thanks to everyone who made our millionth book distribution celebration such a success.
