Providence
Hosts Kids to Kids Sixth Birthday Bash
On
March 3, 2007, Kids
to Kids
celebrated its sixth birthday at Providence, a master planned
community in Las Vegas.
This
is the second year that Providence has hosted and sponsored
our birthday celebration. Providence
is located at I-215 and Hualapai.

The
event was filled with laughter, books, games, food and more.

pups from Heaven
Can Wait Sanctuary mingle with our party guests. One of
Heaven Can Wait's programs takes dogs into schools to promote
the joy of reading.

Special guests at the event included (from left to right,
above) Miss Teen Nevada Megan Franco and Miss Nevada Mistie
Williams, author Ruth Devlin, who wrote "Desert Seasons,"
and author of "When I Read," Frank Fiorello.

Above
left, Maria Silva, local newscaster for NBC Channel 3, a longtime
supporter of Kids
to Kids,
reads with a new friend. At right, above, members of the Assistance
League of Las Vegas use puppets to teach important life lessons
to children.

Above,
performers from Sign
Design Theatre give their unique versions of songs that
entertain and inspire.

Barnes & Noble locations throughout the valley graciously
serve as collection points for donated books for Kids to Kids
all year round.

We
love our dedicated volunteers and members of the Kids
to Kids
staff!

Guests
were invited to guess how many pennies were in this jar to
win a prize. The final count: 5,524 pennies.
This
event coincides with our "Pennies From Pages" fundraising
efforts. Find out more.
Thanks
to everyone who helped make our sixth birthday such a success!
