Spread the Word Nevada: Kids to Kids Fifth Annual Storybook Gala

On September 22, 2007, Kids to Kids held its fifth annual Storybook Gala. The glamorous event, with a masquerade ball theme, brought together supporters, community partners, volunteers, staff and entertainers for a stirring, exuberant bash hosted by The Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino.

Entertainment for the evening included an exuberant display of dancing (below) by the Delgado Dancers from the Delgado Dance Studio.

Kids to Kids relies on the dedicated effort of its senior volunteers. The four volunteers pictured below are among the dozens of seniors who tirelessly clean books at senior centers around the Las Vegas valley.

Kids to Kids Boardmembers (Irene Lee, Board Secretary and Board Chairman Susan Miller, below left, for example) and others joined in the festivities.

Below, Kids to Kids President Lisa Habighorst greets guests. At right, the evening's emcees were Sherry Swensk and Denise Valdez of Vegas' KLAS TV.

The guests of honor for the evening were Hae Un Lee and Kenneth Lee (from left, below), owners of Lee's Discount Liquor.

Below, Kids to Kids President Laurie Porter speaks about the ongoing success of the organization's many programs. At right, auctioneer Christian Kolberg helps with the fundraising portion of the evening. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our wonderfully magnanimous benefactors!

The live auction featured students (below) dressed to highlight the themes of the auction packages being bid upon.

Those in attendance were wowed by a spine-tingling performance of "Music of the Night" from the Venetian's "The Phantom of the Opera."

The Lees shared stories about their ongoing support of Kids to Kids. Without our donors, we would not be able to touch so many lives.

After the main program, guests danced the night away.
