Venetian Foundation
The
Venetian Foundation is an important partner for Kids
to Kids.
Each year, the Foundation adopts the elementary school in
which the majority of the company's employees' children attend.
Because of this partnership, the students are recipients of
Kids
to Kids
books to create their own at-home library collections.
The
Foundation has generously hosted the annual Storybook Gala
for each of its three years.

planned community that will focus its outreach efforts in
the area of literacy. As
the community develops, so will its partnership with Kids
to Kids.

& Noble Booksellers
The
four Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Southern Nevada are
believers in Kids
to Kids.
Not only do they serve as collection sites for the community
to drop off gently used children’s books, they support
Kids
to Kids
in other ways as well.
Barnes & Noble hosts book fairs where shoppers present
vouchers upon checkout and Kids
to Kids
earns a percentage of the sale, and also
hosts guest readers for the Kids
to Kids "Breakfast
with Books" program.
The
Summerlin Children's Forum and The Howard Hughes Corporation
"Building
Connections with Books" is a program that focuses on
literacy by partnering Summerlin elementary schools with at-risk
Las Vegas elementary schools. The first phase of the program
partnered three elementary schools in Summerlin: Richard Bryan,
Ober and Lummis and three at-risk elementary schools in Las
Vegas: C.P. Squires, Rex Bell and Lois Craig.
In
the first year of the grant, sponsored by the Summerlin Children's
Forum and The
Howard Hughes Corporation, more than 35,000 books were
collected by the three Summerlin schools for their Las Vegas
partner schools!
Goodwill
Industries
Goodwill
Industries of Southern Nevada has been a major partner of
the Kids
to Kids
program since 2002. Since partnering with Kids
to Kids,
they have generously donated more than 135,000 books to the
program.
Kids
to Kids
was thrilled to honor Goodwill Industries at our 2004 Storybook
Gala. We truly could not do our program without their generous
support.
Lexus
of Las Vegas
Lexus
of Las Vegas is helping the Kids
to Kids
cause by generously donating maintenance services and providing
gas for our van which was donated by Lee's Helping Hand.
These
services are especially important because Kids
to Kids
will be putting this vehicle through its paces making book
pick-ups, deliveries and doing other important work to help
Nevada's children.
Rhodes
Homes
Rhodes
Homes is proud to be a Kids
to Kids
partner. Working with the City of Henderson and the APPLE
Partnership, Rhodes Homes sponsored an event to bring renowned
children's author, R.L. Stine, to the valley. Stine spoke
to elementary school children and high school journalism students
and conducted an outdoor community presentation.
The
homebuilder also encourages reading aloud to children. Glynda
Rhodes, Vice President of Interior and Architectural Design
for Rhodes Homes, reads to children at Kids
to Kids
book fairs. In addition, Rhodes
Homes holds fundraising events at its developments to
raise money and awareness for Kids
to Kids.
