Kids to Kids
Kids to Kids is the flagship program of Spread the Word Nevada, offering every child in our partner schools the chance to choose a book of their own to keep each month. By selecting books that speak to their interests, children become excited and curious readers, eager to explore new worlds and ideas. This simple act of choice fosters independence, sparks imagination, and builds confidence. It encourages a genuine love for reading and helps children form a lifelong habit of discovery and learning.

How does a Kids to Kids distribution work?
Once a month during the school year, Spread the Word Nevada delivers gently used books, donated by the community, to every student in each of our 81 partner schools. Each school then hosts a distribution where students browse through the donated books, arranged by grade level, and pick one to take home and add to their home library.
When an eligible school is adopted through the generosity of a funder, Spread the Word Nevada hosts an “adoption” event. At this event, each student receives two brand-new, age-appropriate books and selects three additional gently used books, donated by the community, to take home and add to their home library.
