Are you looking for a way to really make a difference in your community? In order for Spread the Word Nevada to continue to help at-risk children we need more new and gently used children’s book. So start cleaning out your children’s book shelves. Think about possibly hosting a book drive at your work or maybe gets your child’s Cub Scout, Brownie group or sports team interested in collecting.
If you’re interested in coordinating a book drive please contact Debbie Sandusky at (702) 715-5688.
We are specifically looking for new or gently used children’s books – and with your donations we will continue to inspire children … one book at a time!
It was approximately one month ago that we were voted the Best Nonprofit in the City by Vegas Seven Magazine’s Best of the City 2013 Awards – and what a month this has been! Thank you Southern Nevada! We have been greeted with such positive phone calls, emails, texts, Facebook messages, Tweets and lovely hand written notes. We can’t express how grateful and honored we are to be awarded this great recognition and to be in the company of many well deserving nonprofits!
We are inspired daily and it is with the support of this community, our donors, Board Members, Advisory Council, staff, volunteers, friends and family that allows us to reach such great achievements!
Our dedication to advancing early childhood literacy by placing books into the hands and homes of children within Southern Nevada’s at-risk, low income communities has and will always be our number one priority!
Thank you again Southern Nevada!
As we reflect on the first half of this year, we have lots to be grateful for and to celebrate! In January, we moved all operations under one roof to our new 5,000 square-foot facility located at 1075 American Pacific Drive, Henderson NV 89074. It’s convenient and spacious – and allows us to host many groups, team builders and individuals looking to volunteer.
We also added two new members to the growing Spread the Word Nevada team – Program Assistant Mary Jane Stewart and Director of Marketing and Communications Vicki Soares.
And who doesn’t like a makeover? Our website recently went through a redesign and we are elated to show it off. A special thank you goes out to Jay Summers for his web developing talents and time.
